The machines…they have problems perceiving and differentiating faces
and when they take over
won’t they be appreciative of our work
enabling them to see and reproduce faces
as we do.
Shouldn’t we help them with their object recognition problems?

Colonialism in decline is the most exciting part (for a variety of reasons…). There’s a lot of waiting for that. I need some subtitles or sidebars informing me as to what is acquired when their sizes increase. The globules aren’t very visually pleasing but the content is nice. (via 3quarksdaily)

I used to listen to 8 tracks of pop from the 60s and 70s as well as random Greek music from unknown years in a friend’s basement. Then we’d play laser tag.
Kids in elementary school whose parents embrace extinct technology can still have that experience with contemporary music these days. If cheap trick can be considered contemporary.
